Dynamic presence of ARMOS S.A. at HORECA 2022

Among the stands was that of the ARMOS company, from Larissa, which specializes in the production and marketing of paper cups. The concept of sustainability has entered the hotel and catering sector for good and as the General Manager of ARMOS S.A. emphasizes. Mr. Christos Giotakis is a field without a ceiling with development dynamics.

“The shift to paper cups is a one-way street. During the exhibition we had exploratory contacts with people from different parts of Greece and the feeling we got is that there is a willingness to invest in new innovative products”.

The biggest problem for Mr. Giotakis is the lack of raw materials from abroad, the increased cost of energy and transport, but also the tax burdens which greatly compress the profit margins.

“Indicatively, let me tell you that a paper cup that used to cost 4.5 euro cents, its price has gone up by 30% and the cost is inevitably passed on to the final consumer. The price for a container of raw materials from Asia has jumped from 2,000 euros to 15,000 euros and we don’t know how the situation will develop.”

It should be noted that the company recorded a turnover of 8.5 million euros in 2021, 10% of which comes from exports, while it has a presence in 7 countries, including Tunisia, Israel and Cyprus. While in terms of production dynamics, on an annual basis, it reaches 80 to 100 million glasses.
